Women's Soccer Ready to Kick Off 2025 Season
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's soccer team is ready to start its 2025 fall season on Saturday, August 23 at CH4 Stadium against Shawnee State University.
MVNU finished with a record of 6-7-4 overall and a conference mark of 1-4-4, making it to the Crossroads League Tournament Quarterfinals in the 2024 season.
MVNU has a strong returning senior class as it moves into the 2025 season. Senior, Alexis Hoffman is returning as the leading goal scorer for MVNU with 9 goals scored and a .538 shot on goal percentage last season. Hoffman earned First Team honors in the Crossroads League. Junior, Bekah Blair is returning to add to the MVNU offense. Blair had 4 goals and 2 assists last season.
Senior, Hannah Miller will be returning as the starting goalkeeper for MVNU. Miller had 99 saves in the 2024 season with a save percentage of .805 and 7 shutouts. Miller earned Honorable Mention Honors from the Crossroads League. Hoffman, Blair, and Miller were all named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team, showing that they get the job done in the classroom as well as on the field. MVNU will be led by team captains Hoffman and senior, Meghan Moser.
Head Coach, Sarah Maracani, brought in five freshmen to join the MVNU team: defender Claire Haas (Smithville, Ohio), defender Emmie Hoffman (Fairfield, Ohio), forward Sofia Terrell (Indianapolis, Indiana), mid-fielder Chloe Montague-Himmell (Zionsville, Indiana), and mid-fielder Becca Drew (Dayton, Ohio).
With a mix of young talent and returning experience, MVNU looks to compete and leave a mark in the competitive Crossroads League during the 2025 season.
