No. 12 Women’s Volleyball Pushes Past SAU in Four Sets

SPRING ARBOR, Mich. The No. 12 Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's volleyball team (22-7, 13-4 CL) traveled to Spring Arbor, Michigan to compete in a conference matchup against Spring Arbor University (21-9, 9-8 CL) on Saturday, November 1.  

The Lady Cougars opened the match strong, taking the first set 25–17. In the second set, MVNU built an early lead before Spring Arbor battled back to tie the score at 14–14. The Lady Cougars regained control and closed out the set for a 2–0 advantage, winning 25-21. Spring Arbor responded in the third set, earning a 25-20 win to narrow the gap to 2–1.  MVNU returned to form in the fourth set, dominating 25–14 to seal the match victory and snag its 22nd win of the season. 

Freshman Morgan Schlabach led the Lady Cougars with 15 kills and 10 digs in the match. Libby Evanshine had 13 kills, while Evelyn Brown added 12. Reagan Nuss added 48 assists, while Jaelyn Tang anchored the defense with 32 digs to help secure the Lady Cougars' road victory. 

 

What's Next 

The Lady Cougars will travel to Fort Wayne, Indiana to play at the University of Saint Francis in their final match of the regular season on Wednesday, November 5 at 7:00 p.m.
