No. 13 Women’s Volleyball Sinks Bethel

MISHAWAKA, Ind. The No. 13 Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's volleyball team (17-5, 8-2 CL) played a conference match at Bethel University (14-9, 6-4 CL) on Wednesday, October 8.

Bethel upset MVNU in Ariel in four sets on September 3, but this time it was the Lady Cougars who would prevail with a statement win. MVNU got its revenge, sweeping the hosts by scores of 25-23, 25-16, and 25-23. MVNU outhit Bethel .200 to just .065 and dominated defensively with 60 digs.

Morgan Schlabach continued her strong freshman season with 10 kills and a .474 hitting percentage. She also had eight digs and a block. Faith Maloney had seven kills, seven digs, four blocks and two assists. Jaelyn Tang was huge in the backrow, coming away with 23 digs. Reagan Nuss had 26 assists, seven digs, three kills, a service ace, and a block in the win.
