Evanshine Reaches 1,000 Career Kills in Match at No. 7 IWU

MARION, Ind. – The No. 16 Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's volleyball team (10-5, 3-2 CL) played at No. 7 Indiana Wesleyan University (9-3, 5-0 CL) on Wednesday, September 17.

MVNU fell to the defending national champions in three sets. After losing the first set 20-25, MVNU dropped the next two by scores of 12-25 and 24-26.

Entering the match, junior outside hitter Libby Evanshine need 13 kills to hit 1,000 for her career. Evanshine got just that, finishing the match with a match-high 13 kills while hitting .238.

Faith Maloney added 11 kills while hitting .429. She also added two blocks. Reagan Nuss had 31 assists, six digs, two kills and 2 blocks. Jaelyn Tang had a team-best 11 digs on the night for the Lady Cougars.

 

What's Next

MVNU heads to Richmond, Indiana for a match at Indiana University East on Friday, September 19. First serve is at 6:00 p.m.
