No. 15 Women’s Volleyball Dominates Shawnee State in 3-0 Sweep
PORTSMOUTH, Ohio. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's volleyball team (7-4) had a clean sweep on the road over Shawnee State (8-4) on Friday, September 5.
In the first set, MVNU outplayed Shawnee State with 14 kills. MVNU won the first set 25-15. Shawnee State pushed back in the second set, but the Lady Cougars surpassed the Bears with a score of 25-21.
MVNU came out strong in the third set. The Lady Cougars finished the set against the Bears 25-14. MVNU finished the match by having 49 total kills and swept Shawnee State with a final score of 3-0.
Faith Maloney led the Lady Cougars in kills with 14. Evelyn Brown followed closely behind with 11 kills. Jaelyn Tang came away with 15 digs, and Raegan Nuss had 33 assists for the Lady Cougars.
What's Next
The Lady Cougars will host No. 22 Taylor University (Ind.) for their second Crossroads League match on Saturday, September 6. The match will be played at 3:00 p.m. in the Ariel Arena.
