UPLAND, Ind. – The No. 14 Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's volleyball team (6-3) took on No. 19 Missouri Baptist (8-2) and St. Francis (Ill.) (1-5) in the final day of the AMFM Tournament, hosted by Taylor University on Saturday, August 30.
MVNU opened the day with Missouri Baptist and was swept by scores of 25-22, 25-22, and 25-20. Faith Maloney led MVNU on the attack with 13 kills and Libby Evanshine added 10. Reagan Nuss had 32 assists and seven digs. Jaelyn Tang also added seven digs and Maloney chipped in with six of her own.
The Lady Cougars bounced back in a big way in the second match of the day as they swept St. Francis by scores of 25-14, 25-18, and 25-13.
Evelyn Brown had a match-high 10 kills while Maloney finished with nine. Maloney also had nine digs, and Tang had a match-high 14 of them. Nuss finished the match with 31 assists, five digs and two blocks.
