Women’s Basketball Cruises to 20 Point Blowout against IU East
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio. — The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's basketball team (3-2) played in Ariel Arena against the Indiana University East Red Wolves (0-3) to wrap up its homecoming games on Saturday, November 9.
It was a neck-and-neck battle throughout the first quarter, but MVNU came out with an 18-16 advantage. In the second quarter, Shalen Guilliams hit three big threes off the bench to help MVNU hold a 34-32 lead heading into the half.
In the third quarter, the Lady Cougars went on a run with Teresa Maggio leading the charge as she scored eight points in the period. MVNU continued to stretch its lead moving into the fourth quarter and got a big momentum boost with a Naomi Keib three, which was assisted by Emily Walker to make the score 54-43 as time expired.
MVNU held the lead until the final buzzer went off, topping the Red Wolves by a final score of 76-56.

MVNU had a 41.9 three-point shooting percentage in the game and made a season high 13 threes.
MVNU made its mark on the glass, outrebounding the guests 46-38.
