Women’s Basketball Suffers First Loss of Season at Holy Cross
ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. — The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's basketball team (1-1) fell to Holy Cross College (1-1) on Friday, November 1 on the road.
The first half of the contest was a defensive battle, with MVNU and Holy Cross entering the half deadlocked at 25-25. MVNU started to find its rhythm on offense in the third and built a 54-50 lead. Holy Cross answered MVNU's punch with a 15-0 run to completely flip the game in its favor. The Lady Cougars stalled offensively and were outscored 22-11 in the fourth quarter, falling by a final of 65-80.

MVNU shot just 32% from the floor and 6-23 from deep. MVNU did a solid job defending, holding Holy Cross to 37% shooting and 26% from three.
MVNU had 15 turnovers to just 12 assists in the game. The Saints turned those turnovers into 17 points.
Holy Cross outrebounded the Lady Cougars 49-43 and had 11 offensive boards.
