Softball Wins Game One at Grace, Game Two Suspended Due to Weather
WINONA LAKE, Ind. — The Mount Vernon Nazarene University softball team (23-20, 16-17 CL) traveled to Grace College (12-35, 6-27 CL) for a Crossroads League matchup on Tuesday, April 21.
MVNU took game one by a final of 9-2. A big four-run third inning put MVNU in control. MVNU had four hits in the inning and took advantage of two Lancer errors to take a 4-0 lead. The Lady Cougars added two runs in the sixth and three more in the seventh. Avery Miller stole the show for MVNU with two home runs and four RBI. Kiera Mayer also hit one over the fence for MVNU. Bailey Sheets got her 10th win of the season in the circle for MVNU. The junior allowed seven hits and two runs through seven innings. Sheets had three strikeouts.
MVNU jumped out to an 11-6 lead in the second game of the series, but the game was suspended due to weather in the Winona Lake area. It remains to be seen whether the final innings of the game will be completed on a later date. Stay tuned into mvnucougars.com for additional updates.

MVNU will play its final scheduled games of the regular season on April 25 at Spring Arbor University. The doubleheader will begin at 1:00 p.m.
