MARION, Ind. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's soccer team (5-6-3, 0-5-1 CL) went on the road to face No. 9 Indiana Wesleyan University (9-2-3, 4-0-2 CL) on Wednesday, October 15.
In the first half, IWU scored two goals. The first goal was at the 9th minute mark by Kai Haskell and the second goal at the 14th minute mark by Yarek Carnegie who was assisted by Mariano Chaves. Carnegie would score again in the second half at the 55th minute mark, assisted again by Chaves. Two more goals would be scored by IWU in the second half, one by Guzman Trigo, assisted by Carnegie, in the 60th minute mark and one by Jameson Neill, assisted by Javier Enciso at the 86th minute mark. IWU would win with a final score of 5-0.
IWU outshot MVNU 23-3. IWU had nine shots on goal, and MVNU had one shot on goal. Brayden Pierson grabbed four saves for MVNU in the net.
What's Next
MVNU will return to CH4 stadium on Saturday, October 18 for Senior Day where they will host Taylor University. The Senior Day celebration will start prior to the 7:00 p.m. kickoff.
