Cougars Defeat Missouri Valley to End Conference Play
MARSHALL, Mo.—The No.8 Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's lacrosse team (9-3, 3-2 HAC) defeated Missouri Valley College (2-8, 0-2 HAC) on Saturday, April 1 at Volney C. Ashford Stadium in its Heart of America Conference regular season finale.
The Cougars got off to a fast start in the first quarter, scoring four goals on nine shots. Luke Modesto had four caused turnovers in the first quarter, giving the offense many opportunities to score. Going into halftime, the Cougars were up 11-1 with great all-around play on both sides of the field. Brett Townsend was finding the open man, finishing with four assists in the first half. The Cougars kept on rolling, outscoring the Vikings 2-1 in the third quarter. The Final score was 16-3.
