Women’s Cross Country Competes in Great Lakes Challenge

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's cross country team traveled to Grand Rapids, Michigan to compete in the Great Lakes Challenge Maroon 5K at Riverside Park on Saturday morning, October 25. 

The meet was an invitational for 22 NAIA teams. MVNU finished in 15th place with a score of 380. As a team, Taylor University placed first in the meet. MVNU was led by Tammy Liplin who finished in 29th place with a time of 18:36.20. The time for Liplin was a new personal best. MVNU freshman, Ella Wigal, also ran a personal best with her time of 19:29.30. MVNU's team time of 1:36:07.30 was its third fastest in program history.

MVNU will next compete in the Crossroads League Championships, hosted by Indiana Wesleyan, on Friday, November 7 at 11:00 a.m.
