Women’s Cross Country Ready for 2025 Season

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's cross-country team is ready to start the 2025 season. MVNU finished their 2024 season with a strong performance in the Crossroads League Championship Meet and look to build off the season.  

Coming into the season, MVNU is receiving votes in the 2025 NAIA Women's Cross Country Preseason Coaches' Top 25 Poll.  

MVNU has a strong team of returners. Seniors Raelyn Barrett, Julia Kanagy, and Lauren Warder look to provide valuable experience and leadership to the team. Sophomore Tammy Liplin led MVNU in the Crossroads League Championship with a 19th place finish, setting the individual school record for the 6k with a time of 22.54.80. 

Coach Taylor brought in three freshmen to add to the MVNU squad: Allison Bonito (Johnstown, Ohio), Ella Wigal (Wooster, Ohio), and Kortney Witherow (Kingston, Missouri). 

MVNU will travel to Marion, Indiana for the Indiana Wesleyan University Twilight Meet on Friday, September 5. The meet will begin at 6:00 p.m.
