Brown and Nuss Earn All-American Nods from AVCA, Brown Named Freshman of the Year
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Evelyn Brown and Reagan Nuss of the Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's volleyball team each earned All-American Honorable Mention status from the American Volleyball Coaches Association on Tuesday, December 16.
Along with Brown's All-American nod, the freshman from Canal Winchester, Ohio was named as the AVCA Freshman of the Year. Brown had a sensational season and was a named as the AVCA All-Regional Freshman of the Year and Crossroads League Freshman of the Year prior to her latest achievement. The middle hitter was also a First Team All-Crossroads League honoree after a season in which she set a school record with a .417 hitting percentage. Brown averaged 2.76 kills per set for the Lady Cougars.
Nuss wraps up her MVNU career with her first All-American nod. The setter from Brownstown, Indiana earned honorable mention recognition after averaging 9.79 assists per set. The First Team All-Crossroads League selection totaled 1,234 assists this season, along with 88 kills and a .321 hitting percentage. Defensively, the senior collected 351 digs, averaging 2.79 digs per set. Over the course of her career, Nuss accumulated 3,994 assists.
