No. 13 Women’s Volleyball Overpowers Saint Francis

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio. The No. 13 Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's volleyball team (16-5, 7-2 CL) dominated the University of Saint Francis (4-17, 0-9 CL) in Ariel Arena on Wednesday, October 1. 

MVNU got off to a fast start, overpowering the Lady Cougars from Fort Wayne from the very first serve. MVNU took set one with a commanding score of 25-8. The hosts then took set two 25-17 before securing the sweep in set three by a final of 25-11. 

Evelyn Brown kept up her strong play, finishing with nine kills on .818% hitting. Faith Maloney had eight kills and a .571 hitting percentage, and Libby Evanshine had eight kills to go with a .375 hitting percentage. As a team, MVNU hit a blistering .418 on the night. USF had a tough time getting things going, hitting -.104 in the match. 

Reagan Nuss had 18 assists, while Bella Claxon added 11 of her own. Jaelyn Tang led MVNU with 10 digs.   

 

What's Next 

The Lady Cougars are back in action on Wednesday, October 8 at Bethel University in Mishawka, Indiana. First serve is set for 6:00 p.m.
