Lady Cougars Sweep IU East
RICHMOND, Ind. – The No. 16 Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's volleyball team (11-5) played on the road at Indiana University East (8-12) on Friday, September 19.
MVNU took the first set 25-21 behind 14 kills. The Lady Cougars kept rolling in the second set, winning 25-22. MVNU hit .250 in the second set, which was its highest output of the night. IU East gave MVNU a battle in set three, jumping out to a 14-10 lead. The Lady Cougars didn't quit, pulling together to finish the set on a 15-7 run. MVNU claimed set three and the sweep of IU East by a final of 25-21.
Libby Evanshine continued her strong play, leading MVNU with a match-high 10 kills to go with a .258 hitting percentage and six digs. Evelyn Brown had nine kills, a .300 hitting percentage, three digs and two blocks. Faith Maloney also added nine kills to go with four digs and two blocks. Reagan Nuss had 29 assists for MVNU, as well as six digs, four kills, and one block.

MVNU resumes conference play on Saturday, September 20 at Goshen College. First serve in Goshen, Indiana is set for 3:00 p.m.
