No. 15 MVNU Wins Top 20 Clash at No. 16 Marian
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The No. 15 Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's volleyball team (10-4, 3-1 CL) defeated No. 16 Marian University (10-3, 2-2 CL) in a five-set clash at the PE Center on Friday, September 12.
MVNU dropped the first set of the match 17-25 but answered with a 25-22 win in set two. The Knights came right back, claiming set three 25-21. Marian didn't stand a chance in the fourth set as the Lady Cougars dominated, winning by a score of 25-10. Set five was close throughout. Trailing 7-8, MVNU went on a 5-0 spurt to take control of the set. MVNU went on to win 15-12, taking the hard-fought battle in five.
Reagan Nuss led the way, setting the tone for MVNU. The senior captain had 43 assists, 25 digs, five kills and four blocks. Libby Evanshine had a team-high 14 kills to go along with eight digs and a block. Evelyn Brown followed in kills with 13 while hitting a team-best .385. Jaelyn Tang anchored the back row, finishing with 34 digs.

MVNU travels to Marion, Indiana on Wednesday, September 17 for a match at No. 7 Indiana Wesleyan University. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m.
