Holloway Earns Pole Vault Crown at Conference Championships

MARION, Ind. - The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's track & field team competed at the Crossroads League Indoor Track and Field Championships on February 17 and 18, hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University. The Lady Cougars ended up finishing 7th overall with 38 points.

Top Performers

Brooke Holloway led the way for the team, taking the pole vault title with a mark of 3.52m. The freshman will continue her strong season at Indoor Nationals.

The 4x800m relay team of Ashley Burgess, Jocelyn Dornbirer, Lyssi Snouffer, and Ellyn Coe were able to finish All-League with a third place finish. The team put together an impressive school record and NAIA "A" standard time of 9:32.76.

Coe had a fantastic race in the 1000m run, finishing fourth with a new school record time of 3:05.77.

Burgess claimed seventh in the 600m dash with a new school record time of 1:43.51.

Makayla Roberts had a great day in the weight throw, placing fifth with a new school record throw of 15.04m.

The 4x400m relay team of Burgess, Snouffer, Dornbirer, and Lily Scarberry took home fifth place with a new school record time of 4:08.64.

The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's track & field team will next compete at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships on March 2-4 at South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota.
