Coach Gallion's Thoughts
"Our mindset for this meet was to come out and compete well. The first meet of the year is about seeing where we are and what we need to improve on. I mainly wanted to see our athletes just attack the competition and that goal was achieved. I was impressed with our attitude and composure today. While a lot of performers deserve to be mentioned I was especially pleased with Ashley Burgess, Grace Frame, and Brooke Holloway. Ashley showed up really well and bested her career PR in the 400 while setting our new school record in that event. Grace is a freshman thrower for us who has put in a lot of work and walked away with a lifetime PR in shotput after meet one. Brooke is another freshman for us but competed like a veteran today. I am very proud of her, she earned a national A-standard performance in pole Vault. This is just the tip of the iceberg for our team and I'm excited to see what the future holds!"
