Cougar Tennis Falls to Taylor
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's and women's tennis teams hosted Taylor University on Tuesday, March 31 at the Ramser Tennis Courts.
MVNU struggled on the men's and women's side against Taylor, dropping both matches 0-7.
On the men's side, the doubles team, Nathan Fitzpatrick and CJ Danemayer, kept a close matchup with Taylor but fell 4-6. Danemayer's single performance was also the strongest on the men's side but still dropped 2-6 and 4-6.
On the women's side, all three doubles teams played a close matchup with Taylor. Annie Mahek / Deah Bresson and Alanna Reyes / Andi Green both fell 3-6, and Maria Cottenden / Elisha Burson fell 6-4. In Cottenden's single matchup, she kept the second match close but would fall 5-7, after dropping the first match 3-6.
What's Next
Both the men's and women's teams will next travel to Mishawaka, Indiana to face Bethel University on Tuesday, April 7.
