Women’s Tennis Wins First Crossroads League Match of Season
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's tennis team hosted the University of Saint Francis at the Ramser Tennis Courts on Saturday, March 28.
MVNU won its first Crossroads League match of the season after it defeated the Cougars of USF by a score of 4-3.
In doubles, the pair of Andi Green and Alanna Reyes won by a score of 6-4. Maria Cottenden and Elisha Burton also won in doubles by a final of 6-2. In singles, Green beat her matchup by scores of 6-3 and 6-3. Burson also won with scores of 7-5 and 6-3. Cottenden sealed the match for MVNU with her win. After falling 5-7, Cottenden won her last two by scores of 7-6 and 6-3.
What's Next
MVNU will play its last home match of the season against the Taylor University Trojans on Tuesday, March 31. First serve is set for 2:00 p.m.
