MVNU Tennis Stumbles Against Lancers

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's and women's tennis teams hosted the Grace College Lancers in a Crossroads League match at the Ramser Tennis Courts on Saturday, March 21.

The men's team for the Lancers entered the day ranked at No. 20 in the nation. MVNU had a hard time with the visitors from Winona Lake as the men fell by a final of 0-7. Despite the loss, Blake Boyer and Ryan Almovodar put up a fight in their double's matchup, getting two set points before falling 2-6.

The women's team also battled the Lancers and fell in the end by a score of 0-7 as well. Andi Green put up a fight in the first game of her single's matchup, earning three points, but she'd fall in the end with scores of 3-6 and 0-6. Elisha Burson battled hard for MVNU, falling by scores of 2-6 and 2-6.

 

What's Next

MVNU will host Indiana Wesleyan University on Tuesday, March 24 at the Ramser Tennis Courts. First serve is set for 1:00 p.m.
