Lady Cougars End Fall Season with a Loss

CINCINNATI, Ohio. - The Mount Vernon Women's Lacrosse team (3-2) fell to the Xavier University's club lacrosse team on Saturday, November 5, 2022.

To start the game off, Xavier came out strong in the first quarter, scoring three goals right off the bat. The Lady Cougars began to readjust, and by the end of the first, Samantha Poor had scored to put MVNU on the board. Going into halftime, the Cougars did not score again, but Xavier had one goal, making the score 4-1 to begin the third quarter. To start the second half, Rebekah Kalas (twice), Jessie Kyer, and Poor would all score to tie the game at 5-5 going into the final quarter. Unfortunately, the Cougars got worn out and Xavier would score three goals to make the final score 8-5, Xavier's game.

This game was a wrap for the Lady Cougars' fall season, and they will begin their spring season in March of 2023 with a few months to condition and practice.
