MVNU Golf Competes at Pilot Spring Invitational

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's and women's golf teams competed in the Pilot Spring Invitational at the Blackthorne Golf Club on April 17-18.

MVNU's men placed eighth out of 12 teams in the tournament with a two-round score of 625 (308, 317). Will Streby led MVNU, tying for 18th with a score of 154 (76, 78). Bennett Hill followed Streby with a 24th place finished. Hill had a 155 (75, 80) overall. Carter Hancock rounded out the three for MVNU, finishing tied for 33rd with a score of 157 (79. 78).

The women's team placed fifth in the tournament out of nine teams with a total of 693 (334, 359) through two rounds. Mary Weisburn led the Lady Cougars, tying for 18th overall with a score of 166 (80, 86). Trynity Wolfe placed 25th overall with a score of 173 (82, 91). Jacqueline Gieseler placed tied for 26th with a score of 174 (85, 89).

 

What's Next

Men's golf will compete in the Sagamore Shootout in Noblesville, Indiana on April 20. The women will compete in the Crossroads League Championships in Columbus, Indiana on May 4-5.
