Women’s Golf Takes First and Men’s Golf Places Third Overall at Holy Cross College Invitational

GRANGER, Ind. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's and men's golf teams competed at the Holy Cross College Invite on Thursday, April 9 and Friday, April 10 at the Knollwood Country Club. 

On the women's side, MVNU placed first out of the five teams competing. The Lady Cougars were led by Mary Weisburn and Trynity Wolfe. Individually, Weisburn finished second after her total gross score of 160. On the team side, Weisburn finished first out of MVNU's team on Thursday after having a score of 79 (+7) and placed second on Friday with a score of 81 (+9). Individually, Wolfe finished third with a total gross score of 166. On the team side, Wolfe took first on Friday with a score of 78 (+6) and placed second on Thursday after a score of 88 (+16). 

On the men's side, the Cougars finished third out of the six teams competing. Bennet Hill finished tied for third overall, individually, after a total gross score of 149. Hill finished first overall out of the team both days. Hill's score on Thursday was 76 (+4) and on Friday finished with a score of 73 (+1). 

 

What's Next 

MVNU will return to compete on Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18 for the Pilot Spring Invitational at Blackthorn Golf Club in South Bend, Indiana.
