Three Lady Cougars Earn Crossroads League Honors

JACKSON, Mich. —  The Crossroads League announced its postseason awards and honors on Wednesday, March 5 and the Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's basketball team had three players receive an honor.

Teresa Maggio, a redshirt sophomore from Lafayette, Indiana, earned All-Crossroads League First Team honors after an impressive debut season with the Lady Cougars. She ranked second in the league with 19.4 points per game, shooting 43.7% from the field and 33.6% from beyond the arc. Defensively, she averaged 2.4 steals per game, tying for third in the conference. Maggio also made history on November 16 against Lawrence Tech, setting the MVNU Women's Basketball single-game scoring record with 41 points.

Freshman, Serenitee Johnson from Uniontown, Ohio, earned All-Crossroads League Second Team honors and was selected for the All-Crossroads League Freshman Team. She ranked second among all freshmen in the conference in scoring, averaging 14.3 points per game while shooting 44.0% from the field. Johnson also stuffed the stat sheet with 6.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.7 steals and 1 block per game.

Angela Roshak earned All-Crossroads League Honorable Mention honors following a strong junior season. The North Canton, Ohio native averaged 12 points per game and shot 50.7% from the field. Roshak averaged 8.0 rebounds per game, and ranked second in the Crossroads League with 1.6 blocks per game.
