Miller And Zimmerman Named to NFCA NAIA All-Region Team

LOUISVILLE, Ky. The National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced its All-Region teams, and the Mount Vernon Nazarene University softball team had two members selected.

Skylar Zimmerman was selected to the NAIA All-Region V First Team after a great debut season for the Lady Cougars in the outfield. The freshman from South Webster posted a .407 batting average, hit five home runs, and recorded 10 stolen bases for MVNU. Zimmerman recorded 70 hits total and batted in 40 runs. Starting all 50 games in right field, she also contributed defensively with a .935 fielding percentage and 67 putouts.

Avery Miller made the NAIA All-Region V Second Team.  The junior from Chillicothe, Ohio, played in all 50 games for the Lady Cougars this season, starting at third base. Miller posted an impressive .432 batting average, driving in 58 runs and hitting 9 home runs. The 58 runs batted in was a single-season program record, besting the previous high of 56 from Kaycee Ollis during the 2022 season.
