Lady Cougars Sweep Player and Pitcher of the Week Honors
JACKSON, Mich. – The Crossroads League has announced that Mount Vernon Nazarene University first baseman Mollie Pentz and pitcher Sheridan Sullivan are the league's Player of the Week and Pitcher of the Week, respectively.
Pentz, a sophomore transfer from Ashland University, earned Player of the Week honors for the first time after she hit .526 (10-19) last week with a double, two triples, eight RBI, and 12 runs scored.
Sullivan was 2-0 in the past week, pitching a combined 12.0 innings in her two starts against Point Park and Judson. The junior righty allowed just one hit in both outings and struck out 17 total and allowed just one run, which was unearned.
MVNU is back in action on Tuesday, March 7 against the University of Northwester Ohio at 9:00am.
