Men’s Volleyball Sweeps Rochester Christian on Senior Day
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's volleyball team (11-13, 8-10 WHAC) hosted Rochester Christian University (0-22, 0-18 WHAC) in Ariel Arena in the final match of the regular season on Saturday, April 11.
It was senior day for MVNU as it honored seniors Hayvin Larison, Jackson Bush, and Noah Wineberg prior to the match for their dedication to the men's volleyball program over the past four years.
MVNU made easy work of Rochester Christian as it took the match by scores of 25-12, 25-20, and 25-13. The Cougars overwhelmed Rochester Christian with a .449 hitting percentage and 37 total kills. Wineberg had eight kills and on a .400 hitting percentage to go along with four service aces. Larison finished the match with seven kills, three digs and two blocks. Tommy Tierney had six kills, four service aces and three digs. Jaxson Snell led the way for MVNU with 16 assists and Austin Kolaczkowski added 13 assists. With its 13 service aces, MVNU also set a new program record. MVNU had previously set the record earlier this season against Rochester Christian.
What's Next
MVNU will begin postseason play on Tuesday, April 14 in the WHAC Tournament Quarterfinals. MVNU will enter the tournament as the No. 6 seed and will play at Lourdes University in Slyvannia, Ohio. Match time is TBD.
