Cougars Swept by No. 10 Golden Eagles
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio. — The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's volleyball team (4-17, 2-11) competed in a home conference match against No. 10 Cornerstone University (18-6, 11-2) on Friday, March 28.
Cornerstone came out strong in the first set, racking up 25 points to MVNU's 11, easily securing the opening set. The second set saw the Cougars hang tight with the Golden Eagles, but Cornerstone pulled ahead to win 25-19. In the final set of the home match, MVNU kept pace early, trailing just 9-8, but Cornerstone sealed the 3-0 victory with a 25-21 win.
MVNU recorded a combined total of 27 kills with a hitting percentage of .235. The Cougars were led by Ethan Cline, who notched seven kills, while Tyler Monnin played a key role on defense with eight digs on the night. Jackson Bush finished the match with six kills and three digs, while Tyler Shields had 18 assists and two digs.

The men's volleyball team will be back in action in Ariel Arena on Saturday, March 29, against Aquinas College. The first serve will be at 3:00 p.m.
