Men’s Volleyball Opens Conference Play with Loss at Bethel
MISHAWAKA, Ind. — The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's volleyball team (1-4, 0-1 WHAC) opened WHAC play with a three-set loss at Bethel University (4-1, 1-0 WHAC) on Friday, February 7.
Bethel took set one 25-17, set two 25-18, and the final set 25-16 to secure the sweep.
Ethan Cline led the Cougars on offense, tallying six kills. Jackson Bush followed with five of his own. Tyler Shields had 17 assists to guide the MVNU attack while contributing with four digs. Tyler Monnin anchored MVNU's defense, finishing the match with a team-high six digs. Bethel hit .397 in the match compared to .053 for the Cougars.

MVNU men's volleyball resumes conference play on Saturday, February 8 with a match at Goshen College in Goshen, Indiana. First serve is set for 6:00 p.m.
