Cougars Close Weekend Tri-Match with Loss to No.12 Reinhardt

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's volleyball team (1-2) took on No. 12 Reinhardt University (4-2) in Campbellsville, Kentucky on Saturday, February 1, to close the Cougars tri-match weekend at Campbellsville University.  

The Cougars struggled to find their groove against the Eagles, coming up short in the first set 25-12. In the second set, MVNU started slow and saw Reinhardt surge ahead 19-7. The Cougars eventually fell in set two by a score of 25-13. MVNU dropped the third set by a final of 25-20, ending the match. 

Ethan Cline was strong on the attack, finishing with a team-high nine kills. Noah Wineberg provided an additional six kills. Daniel Daly chipped in with five kills and three digs, while Cole Custodio anchored the defense with 4 digs. Tyler Shields had 21 assists for the Cougars. 

 

What's Next 

The Cougars will return home to Ariel Arena to take on Hiram College on Tuesday, February 4, at 7:00 p.m.
