MVNU Plays Wittenberg in Stephanie Monnin Memorial Game

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's volleyball team (13-7, 9-5) played at Wittenberg University (15-8, 5-0) on Tuesday, March 26.

Both teams came together in remembrance of Stephanie Monnin, the mother of Tyler Monnin and his brother Reese, who plays at Wittenberg. The teams played hard for the Monnin family, with Wittenberg coming out on top at the end. MVNU took the first set by a score of 25-17 but would fall in the next three by finals of 17-25, 15-25, and 17-25.

Daniel Daly – 5 kills, 4 digs, 4 blocks.

Riley Barretto – 5 kills, 1 dig.

Jonathan Champlin – 8 digs, 2 kills.

Jaysen Matsumoto – 23 assists, 9 digs, 1 kill.

Noah Wineberg – 4 kills, 4 blocks, 2 digs.

Monnin – 4 digs.

MVNU next plays at Goshen College in Goshen, Indiana on April 5. First serve is at 7:00pm.
