Men’s Volleyball Suffers Defeat to Reinhardt in Five Sets

WALESKA, Ga. – The (RV) Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's volleyball team (8-4, 6-3) had a matchup on Monday, March 4 against Reinhardt University (14-1, 5-1) to being its spring break trip to the state of Georgia.

MVNU began the match with a strong performance, securing victory in the first set with a scoreline of 25-19. In set two, MVNU and Reinhardt saw a closely fought battle, with neither team able to pull away much. The score remained tight throughout, but in the end, Reinhardt clinched the victory by a final score of 25-22. Set three belonged entirely to Reinhardt. They dictated the pace of the set, emerging victorious by a score of 25-16. MVNU found its stride again in set four, clinching the set by a score of 25-19. In the decisive final set, Reinhardt surged ahead with an impressive 4-0 run. However, MVNU fought back valiantly, narrowing the score to 11-13. Ultimately, Reinhardt sealed the victory in the fifth set by a final of 15-12.

Men's volleyball will be Marietta, Georgia on Tuesday, March 5 for matchup at Life University. First serve is at 6:00 pm.
