Men’s Volleyball Closes Regular Season with Split

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The (RV) Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's volleyball team (19-7, 12-5 WHAC) closed the regular season in the Cornerstone Tri-Tournament, hosted by Cornerstone University on Saturday, March 25.

MVNU opened the tournament with another victory over (RV) Cornerstone University (17-12, 8-10). MVNU won in five by scores of 21-25, 25-23, 23-25, 25-20, and 15-12. The Cougars played (RV) Olivet Nazarene University (18-6) in the second match of the day, falling in four sets by scores of 16-25, 24-26, 26-24, and 15-25.

Inside the Box Score (Match 1)

Spencer Stanley led the charge offensively with 19 kills. Stanley had 12 digs and three blocks as well.

Landon Ewers had 10 kills, five digs, and three blocks.

Mikaja Dart had a career-best 44 assists to go with 10 digs.

Daniel Skrzypchak had 20 digs.

Inside the Box Score (Match 2)

Ewers has 10 kills and four blocks.

Jonathan Champlin had eight kills and three blocks for MVNU.

Dart had 33 assists. Dart had seven digs and three blocks.

Skrzypchak had 16 digs for the Cougars.

What's Next

MVNU is set to host the opening round of the WHAC Tournament for the first time in program history as the three-seed on Wednesday, March 29. First serve is set for 7:00pm in Ariel Arena.
