Cougars Defeat Maple Leafs in Four

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's volleyball team (16-5, 11-4) defeated Goshen College (6-11, 4-10) in four sets on Friday evening, March 17 in Ariel Arena.

The Cougars took the first two sets with scores of 25-21 and 25-22. Goshen won the third set 25-18 before MVNU snuck out a win in the fourth set 27-25.

Inside the Box Score

Spencer Stanley led the Cougar offense with 16 kills and six digs. He also had five blocks and two assists on the night.

Landon Ewers had a good night, contributing 10 kills and five blocks.

Luke Funte and Daniel Daly each chipped in with six kills and combined for five blocks on the evening.

Daniel Skrzypchak and Jaysen Matsumoto each had 13 digs in the match. Matsumoto also had 40 assists.

What's Next

The Cougars are back in action on Saturday, March 18 as they host Goshen College in Ariel Arena on Senior Day. First serve is scheduled for 3:00pm.
