Shipley and Hodkinson Named to CSC Academic All-America Teams

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Tyler Shipley and Evan Hodkinson were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Teams after wrapping up strong indoor and outdoor track and field seasons.

Shipley, who was a senior graphic design major from Mount Sterling, Ohio, made the first team after finishing the outdoor track and field season as the national champion in the men's pole vault with a mark of 5.00m. Shipley became MVNU's second NAIA national champion ever, and the first since Mitchell Soviak won it in shot put for the MVNU men's outdoor track and field team in 2019. During the indoor season, Shipley was the national runner-up at the NAIA indoor track and field national championships in pole vault.

For the third consecutive season, Hodkinson has been named as a CSC Academic All-American. The senior biology (pre-med) major from Dalton, Ohio was an All-American in the 4x800m at NAIA outdoor nationals where the relay team finished as the national runner-up. Hodkinson helped the crew finish with a school record time of 7:28.79. Hodkinson also had a fantastic indoor season where he was an All-American in the 4x800m relay and the 1000m.

Thanks to Shipley and Hodkinson, the men's track and field program reached new heights in 2026 as it finished 13^th overall at indoor nationals and ninth overall at outdoor nationals. Both of those finishes were the best in program history.
