Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Opens Season at Denison Meet
GRANVILLE, Ohio. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's and women's outdoor track and field team traveled to compete at the Denison University's Denison Lid-Lifter Invitational on Saturday, March 28.
Men's Top Running Performers:
Evan Hodkinson finished first in the 1500m with a time of 3:59.07.
Simon Rohwer finished first in the 400m after a time of 49.61.
Jackson Loyd with a time of 10.92 placed first in the 100m.
Will Baker placed second in the 1500m with a time of 4:03.32.
Daron Porter took third place in the 1500m, finishing at a time of 4:04.46.
Samuel Haley finished second in the 200m with a time of 22.45.
Men's Top Field Performers:
Isaac Burns finished first in high jump with a height of 2.06m. The mark was an NAIA B Standard.
Tyler Shipley in pole vault finished with an NAIA A Standard height of 4.94m to take first place.
Griffin Flusch placed first in shot put with a distance of 14.96m. Flusche also finished fourth after a distance of 42.29m in discus.
Chandler Hartman took second in discus with a distance of 43.10m. Hartman also took second in shot put with a distance of 14.47m
Paul Hickey placed second in hammer after a distance of 44.01m.
Women's Top Running Performers:
Leah Cooper secured first place with a time of 12.95 in the 100m. Cooper also took second in the 200m with a time of 26.31.
Makenna Langford finished with a NAIA B Standard time of 1:02.82 and placed first in the 400m hurdles.
Izzy Henderson took second place in the 100m with a time of 13.04.
Ashley Yoder placed third in the 1500m with a time of 4:51.22.
Louisa Hallabrin followed right behind in the 1500m, placing fourth with a time of 4:51.93.
Lily Scarberry finished second in the 100m hurdles with a time of 18.40.
Women's Top Field Performers:
Henderson finished first in long jump after a distance of 5.24m.
Shyanne Moser finished third in shot put after a distance of 11.14m.
Kate Ruffle took third place in long jump after a distance of 5.05m.
What's Next
MVNU will travel to Fort Wayne, Indiana for the Indiana Tech Invitation at Warrior Park on Thursday, April 2.
