MVNU Concludes NAIA Outdoor Nationals with Big Last Day

MARION, Ind. The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's and women's track & field team wrapped up the 2025 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships, hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University, on Friday, May 23.

MVNU's women's team placed 31st out of 69 teams, while the men's team placed 34th out of 69 teams at the national stage.

Lyssi Snouffer earned her second career All-American honor in the outdoor high jump, finishing as the national runner-up with a jump of 1.72m.

Evan Hodkinson finished nationals as an All-American for MVNU. Hodkinson finished as the national runner-up in the 800m with a time of 1:50.40. Hodkinson also competed for the team in the 1500m on Wednesday, May 21, finishing 14th overall with a time of 4:02.82.

Tyler Shipley competed in the pole vault finals on the last day of the meet and placed tenth overall with a vault of 4.60m.

Bryce Wiles started his pair of national performances on Wednesday in the 200m semifinals and placed 14th out of 31 sprinters with a time of 21.40 seconds. Wiles then ran in the 100m semifinals the next day, placing 11th overall out of 30 athletes with a time of 10.54 seconds.

The men's 4x800m relay of Simon Rohwer, Daron Porter, Hodkinson, and Ryan Lehman competed on Wednesday and placed 11th out of 30 relays with a time of 7:41.72.

Mason Hendrickson ran in the 3000m Steeplechase for the Cougars on Wednesday as well. The junior battled through injury and was still able to finish the race. Hendrickson placed 23rd overall with a time of 10:18.22.
