Rhodeback Puts Together All-American Performance for MVNU at Outdoor Nationals
MARION, Ind. - The MVNU Men's Track and Field team competed at the 71st annual Outdoor Track & Field National Championships. The event took place May 24-26 at Indiana Wesleyan University.
The Cougars were able to finish in 70th place overall at Indiana Wesleyan University.
MVNU Performers
Erich Rhodeback competed in the 110-meter hurdles prelims on May 25th. The sophomore had a great race to finish in ninth, pushing himself onto finals with a time of 14.25. Finals took place the following day and Rhodeback put together another impressive race, placing seventh with a time of 14.55 to become an All-American. The outdoor All-American accolade for the sophomore from Mount Vernon, Ohio is the fourth of his collegiate career, and second All-American nod in the 110 hurdles.
Evan Hodkinson competed in the 800-meter run prelims on May 25th. The sophomore ran an a very strong race to finish just shy of making finals in eleventh place. Entering the race, Hodkinson was seeded 23rd overall. Hodkinson had a time of 1:53.39.
The relay of Marcus Whaley, Liam Near, Rhodeback, and Hodkinson competed in the 4x400 meter relay prelims on May 25th. The group put together a massive effort to run a time of 3:18.51 and finish 14th overall.
The relay of Mason Hendrickson, Isaac Ramseyer, Hodkinson, and Alex Jenney competed in the 3200m relay prelims on May 24th. The relay claimed 17th place with a time of 7:45.86.
Whaley competed in the 400-meter hurdle prelims on May 24th. Whaley put together a strong performance against a tough group of competitors, Whaley took home 19th place with a time of 54.77.
Jaden Haldeman competed in the 400-meter hurdle prelims as well. The sophomore had a tremendous season, all while battling injuries. Haldeman was able to finish 23rd with a time of 58.11.
Kyler Dickey competed in the shotput finals on May 26th. Dickey compiled some strong throws to finish the day, with his best throw being 15.48m. The fifth year senior ended his extraordinary MVNU career in 21st place.
Micah Tuggle competed in the shotput along with Dickey. The junior's excellent season came to an end with his best throw of the day being 14.71m. Tuggle finished in 24th overall.
