Men Finish Third at Crossroads League Outdoor Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's outdoor track and field team competed in the Crossroads League Outdoor Championships on May 4-5 at Marian University.

MVNU turned in a strong performance as it saw the men place third out of 10 teams with 93.50 points. MVNU finished behind Marian University and Indiana Wesleyan University who had 227 points and 139.50 points respectively. The third-place finish and point total for MVNU were both outdoor program records at the conference meet.

 

Top Performers

MVNU swept the top three spots in the 110m hurdle finals as Erich Rhodeback, Jaden Haldeman, and Connor Williams led the pack. Rhodeback finished with a "B" standard time of 14.74. Haldman hit the "B" standard as well with a time of 14.78. Connor Williams had a time of 14.89 seconds. In prelims, Rhodeback hit an "A" standard time of 14.21 seconds, while Haldeman also hit the mark with a time of 14.57 seconds.

The men's 4x100 meter relay of Marcus Whaley, Haldeman, Liam Near and Bryce Wiles placed first with a time of 41.43 seconds.

Evan Hodkinson placed fourth in the 800m with a time of 1:53.74.

Whaley placed second and earned All-Conference honors in the 400m hurdles with a time of 54.79.

The 4x400m relay of Whaley, Near, Haldeman and Rhodeback placed second and earned All-Conference honors with a time of 3:19.64.

The 4x800m relay of Mason Hendrickson, Isaac Ramseyer, Hodkinson and Trent Koning hit the "A" standard with a time of 7:39.83. The mark broke the school record by five seconds.

Tyler Shipley earned All-Conference honors and placed third in the pole vault with a vault of 4.55m.

Kyler Dickey placed third and made All-Conference in shotput with an "A" standard toss of 16.45m.

Micah Tuggle placed fourth in the hammer with a personal best throw of 48.51m.

 

What's Next

MVNU will compete in the last chance invite, hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University on May12-13 in Marion, Indiana.
