Men’s Track and Field Proves Strong at Walsh
NORTH CANTON, Ohio. - The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's track and field team competed at the Walsh Invitational, hosted by Walsh University on Thursday, April 27.
Top Performers
Evan Hodkinson ran an impressive race in the 1500m to break the school record with a time of 3:58.25. Hodkinson was able to claim seventh overall after winning his heat.
Connor Williams was able to put together a great race in the 110m hurdles to claim third overall with a time of 15.02.
Jaden Haldeman was able to complete a great race in the 100m dash with a time of 10.86. Haldeman claimed second place out of 39 competitors.
Isaac Ramseyer had an impressive run in the 800m with a time of 1:55.00, taking home third out of 49 competitors.
Liam Near had a great run in the 200m to claim seventh out of 45 competitors with a time of 22.32.
Sam Swanger was able to put together an impressive run in the 5000m, taking home second with a time of 15:34.53.
The team of Seth McCloskey, Kaleb Bosworth, Trent Koning, and Hodkinson were able to put together a great 4x400m relay race to claim first with a time of 3:23.61.
Tyler Shipley was able to finish second in the pole vault after clearing an impressive height of 4.15m.
Chris Graber had a huge day in the long jump, taking home first place after hitting a mark of 6.66m.
Zach Jenney took sixth in the discus with a throw of 44.52m.

The MVNU men's track & field team will be competing in the Crossroads League Outdoor Championships, hosted by Marian University on May 4 and 5.
