Men’s Track and Field Begins Outdoor Season

OXFORD, Ohio. — The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's track and field team began outdoor season at the Blizzard Buster, hosted by the Miami University on Friday, March 17.

 

Top Performers

Erich Rhodeback kicked off the season strong in the 110m hurdles, hitting an A standard to punch his ticket to nationals. Rhodeback won the event in a time of 14.47. Connor Williams finished not far behind, taking home fourth with a time of 15.63.

Jaden Haldeman took down the outdoor 400m school record by running a time of 49.39. Haldeman took first in the event out of 18 competitors.

Liam Near was victorious in the 200m dash running a time of 22.23 to take first in the event.

Micah Tuggle claimed fourth in shot put after completing an impressive throw of 14.62m.

Zach Jenney started his outdoor season well after taking home seventh in discus with a throw of 41.35m.

Chris Graber was dominant in the jumping events for the Cougars. Graber claimed third in long jump, hitting a distance of 6.44m. Graber claimed second in triple jump as well, jumping 12.62m.

 

Upcoming Events

The MVNU men's track and field team will compete at the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Outdoor Open, hosted by Cedarville University on March 25.
