MVNU Track & Field Wraps Up Crossroads League Indoor Championships

MARION, Ind. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University indoor men's and women's track & field teams concluded the Crossroads League Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University on February 20-21.

 

The men placed seventh overall out of 10 teams in the conference meet, finishing with a total of 49 points. Marian University won the meet with 236 points. The women placed ninth out of the ten teams with 29 points. Marian won on the women's side as well, ending the meet with 244 points.

 

Men's Top Performers

Tyler Shipley was the conference champion in the pole vault, placing first with a NAIA A Standard vault of 4.85m.

Simon Rohwer placed second and earned All-League status in the 600m with a time of 1:21.32. The time was also a school record.

Evan Hodkinson placed second overall in the 1000m, earning All-League status with a time of 2:28.99.

 

Women's Top Performers

The 4x800m relay team of Ashley Yoder, Louisa Hallabrin, Allison Bonito, and Tammy Liplin placed second overall, earning All-League honors with a time of 9:36.66.

The 4x400m relay team of Kate Ruffle, Maddy Lengacher, Makenna Langford, and Isabel Henderson earned All-League honors with its third-place finish. The time of 4:01.88 was a new program record.

Leah Cooper broke her own school record in the 60m with a time of 7.89 seconds in prelims.

Langford set a new school record in the 600m with a time of 1:37.62, placing sixth overall.

What's Next

MVNU's national qualifiers will now prepare for the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships in Gainesville, Florida on March 5-7.
