Hodkinson Hits NAIA Standard, Multiple School Records Broken in Indoor Opener
FORT WAYNE, IND. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's and women's track & field team opened its 2026 indoor track & field season at the Ashland Invitational, hosted by Ashland University on Saturday, January 24.
Men's Top Performers
Evan Hodkinson – Hit the NAIA B Standard in the 800m and placed fourth of 48 with a school record time of 1:52.45.
William Baker – Set a new school record in the 3000m and placed 13th of 42 with a time of 8:42.66. Baker also placed fifth of 49 in the mile with a time of 4:22.34.
Samuel Haley – Placed fourth of 67 in the 200m with a time of 22.30.
Seth McCloskey, Marshall Carr, Reed Johnson, and Haley – Placed fourth of 19 in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:23.08.
David Burkholder – Placed fifth of 10 in the 5000m with a time of 16:00.74.

Women's Top Performers
Maddy Lengacher – Broke the school record in the 200m and placed 15th of 49 with a time of 26.59.
Leah Cooper – Also broke the old school record in the 200m and placed 6th of 49 with a time of 26.62. Cooper also placed 10th of 48 in the 60m with a time of 7.97.
Kate Ruffle, Lengacher, Makenna Langford, and Louisa Hallabrin – Broke the 4x400m relay school record with a time of 4:05.67, placing sixth of 10.
Izzy Henderson – Placed second overall in the long jump with a jump of 5.43m.
Hallabrin – Placed 10th of 38 in the 800m with a time of 2:24.47.
