Cougars Earn 5-2 Win over Shawnee State

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's tennis team took on Shawnee State in the second day of the PTR Tennis Fest on Monday, March 2.  

After strong performances in doubles and individuals, the Cougars took the 5-2 win over Shawnee State. The duo of CJ Danemayer and Nathan Fitzpatrick took the 6-0 win in the doubles matchup. Blake Boyer and Ryan Almovodar took an uncontested win, adding one point in favor of the Cougars. 

Danemayer won his first set with a score of 6-1 and won his second set 6-2. Fitzpatrick had a shutout score of 6-0 in both sets to secure the win. Boyer and Almovodar both earned an uncontested win, securing two points for the Cougars. 

What's Next 

The Cougars will continue in the third day of the PTR Tennis Fest in Hilton Head, South Carolina on Tuesday, March 3 when facing Marian University at 10:00 a.m.
