Bello Makes CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Miguel Bello of the Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's soccer team has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team on Tuesday, December 16 after a phenomenal season on the field and in the classroom.

The honor is the first All-American nod of Bello's career. Bello, who is a graduate student from Madrid, Spain, achieved a 4.0 while getting his Master of Business Administration at MVNU. The forward was also named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team and earned All-Crossroads League First Team honors prior to his All-American selection.

Bello was the leading goal scorer for MVNU, accumulating ten goals this season, putting him third overall in the Crossroads League. Bello scored four game winning goals, one of which caused the upset win over No. 20 Grace and was then named Crossroads League Offensive Player of the Week. Bello also added four assists, ranked fourth in points in the Crossroads league with 24 points, and ranked fifth in shots with 50 shots this season.
