Bello and Salgado Receive All-League Honors

JACKSON, Mich. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's soccer team had two players receive All-League Honors from the Crossroads League on Thursday, November 13. 

Forward, Miguel Bello earned First-Team honors in his dominating first season as an MVNU Cougar. As the leading goal scorer for MVNU, Bello had ten goals this season, putting him third overall in the Crossroads League. Bello scored four game winning goals, one of which caused the upset win over No. 20 Grace and was then named Crossroads League Offensive Player of the Week. Bello also added four assists, ranked fourth in points in the Crossroads league with 24 points, and ranked fifth in shots with 50 shots this season.  

Defender, Chucho Salgado received Honorable Mention for his strong third season for the Cougars. Salgado played a key role in his defensive work as a center back for MVNU. Salgado also stepped up offensively as the second leading scorer for the Cougars with five goals. Salgado scored two goals in the 5-0 shutout win over Brescia, which helped earn Salgado Crossroads League Defensive Player of the Week. Salgado added one assist and had 11 points in the Crossroads League.
