FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's soccer team (5-4-3, 0-3-1 CL) traveled to face the University of Saint Francis (4-8-1, 2-2-0 CL) on Saturday, October 4 where it fell by a final score of 1-2.
Late into the first half, Nicolás Balbin scored for USF, putting them up going into the second half. MVNU was able to come out in the second half and tie the game at the 53rd minute with a goal from Chucho Salgado, assisted by Elkana Maier. USF responded with a goal at the 68th minute by Unax Mendia and the match would end with the final score of 2-1.
USF outshot MVNU 13-7. MVNU put six out of the seven shots on goal. Brayden Pierson came away with two saves for MVNU.
What's Next
MVNU will be back in action at CH4 stadium on Saturday, October 11 when they host Spring Arbor University (Mich.). Kickoff will start at 7:00 p.m.
