Men’s Soccer Falls Short Against No. 19 Marian

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's soccer team (5-3-3, 0-2-1 CL) faced off against No. 19 Marian University (7-2-3, 2-0-1 CL) on Wednesday, October 1 at CH4 Stadium. 

After a scoreless first half, Marian scored a penalty kick by Gustavo Nunes and a goal by Matthew Loo with under four minutes remaining in the second half. Marian would go on and win the game 2-0. 

Marian had 30 shots (11 on goal) to MVNU's 13 shots (six on goal). Miguel Bello led MVNU's offense by putting two shots on goal. Brayden Pierson grabbed nine saves while in the net for the Cougars. 

 

What's Next 

The Cougars will continue conference play when they travel to Fort Wayne, Indiana to face the University of Saint Francis on Saturday, October 4. Kickoff will start at 5:00 p.m.
